Frequently asked questions
Shipping & Logistics
Do you ship internationally?
Currently, I only ship within the continental United States via UPS Ground. All shipments include tracking numbers provided once the painting ships.
How long does shipping take?
Expect about one week total from order to delivery. I'm located semi-remotely in Colorado, so it typically takes me 2-3 business days to get to the nearest UPS location, plus 3 business days for UPS Ground delivery. If you need expedited shipping, please contact me before ordering to check availability. There may be a surcharge for same-day shipping and faster delivery options.
How are paintings packaged?
I package all paintings securely to protect against damage during transit. Each painting is wrapped gift-ready, so you could take it directly from the box and present it as a gift. Every shipment includes a personal thank-you note.
What is your return policy?
All sales are final. I provide detailed descriptions, colors, and dimensions for each painting on my website so you can carefully consider whether it will work in your space before purchasing. If a painting arrives damaged during shipping, please send me photos immediately. I will file an insurance claim with UPS and issue a refund accordingly.
Do you sell originals, prints, or both?
I sell both originals and prints, clearly marked on the website. Not all originals are available as prints because creating high-quality prints requires professional scanning and digitization, which is costly. I typically choose personal favorites or best-sellers to reproduce as prints.
Care & Display
How should I care for my painting?
All paintings come with a protective varnish (most recent works use UV-resistant spray varnish), so cleaning is rarely necessary. If needed, you can gently wipe the surface with a barely damp cloth (warm soapy water, wrung out well).
Important: Even with UV-resistant varnish, never hang paintings in direct sunlight or directly next to windows. Sunlight can degrade colors over time, especially in alcohol ink pieces, which are notoriously light-sensitive.
Do paintings come ready to hang, or do they need framing?
Canvas paintings: Come with hanging hardware already attached to the back, so they're ready to hang immediately. All canvases are gallery-wrapped with the painting continued around the sides, so you can hang them with or without a frame -it's up to your preference. I don't include frames to prevent shipping damage and to allow you to choose what works best in your space.
Panel paintings: Ship in a simple protective frame to prevent damage during transit. You can keep this frame or take the painting to a framer. I generally suggest adding a white mat and a custom frame that suits your space - discuss options with your local framer.
Artistic Approach & Style
What materials and techniques do you use?
I work primarily with fluid acrylics and alcohol inks because I'm drawn to the organic, unpredictable shapes and textures they create. I paint on canvas, hardboard, or high-impact plastic sheets. I often prep canvases to minimize visible texture, as I personally prefer a smoother finished look.
Do you work from sketches or paint directly?
For fluid backgrounds, I work directly on the surface without sketching. When I add silhouettes or other elements on top of those backgrounds, I often sketch those components ahead of time to achieve the specific forms I'm aiming for.
Commissions & Custom Work
Do you accept commissions?
Yes, I accept commissions for work in the styles currently shown on my website. There's no way to purchase commissions directly online; please contact me via Instagram or through my website contact form, and we'll discuss what you're looking for.
Can I request specific colors or sizes?
I'll consider specific color and size requests, but there are some limitations. Certain sizes may not be available depending on material availability. I work within my established color palette and preferred techniques, so if a request strays significantly from my style, I may need to decline. That said, I'm open to accommodating colors that are somewhat outside my usual range.
I may also decline commissions for older styles if I no longer have the materials on hand to recreate similar work.
